Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Angie began her musical journey at age 6. "My sister and I would perform for our family. Our parents saw a great opportunity to enroll us in music lessons." Angie studied voice, piano and theory with the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. It was there she obtained her degree in performance and vocal instruction. Though her studies were confined to classical music, her musical influence came from the pioneers of Christian music. "I used to listen to Randy Stonehill, Phil Keaggy, Amy Grant, they were the cutting edge of what we know today as Christian music".
